Monthly Meeting December 17th, 2024

Pam Eastman audited petty cash on December 16, 2024.

Director’s Report
Winter hours now being considered are 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on days that the library is open.
The Town reimbursed the library $921.91 for the library safe and printer ink.
The Hedges made a $100 gift to the library. Kawana will send a thank-you card.
Old Business
Geneva is the Board’s top design choice for the Library’s new website. The Board will meet on January 13 for discussion. Jack Scott will return January 29 to discuss logistics.
Deb and Kawana have almost finished digitizing the library reports from 2018-2024.
Joan reported that the long-awaited handicap-accessible door is scheduled for Spring installation. She reminded Library Officers to attend at least two Town Board Meetings during 2025.
New Business
SALS is disposing of culled books according to the following criteria: 5 years old or more, in poor condition, and/or not pertinent. SALS is considering programs for 2025 and will hold a meeting to discuss past programs.
Discussion centered on previous library-sponsored programs. Possible speakers include author Janet Schliff and Town Historian Colleen Murtagh to speak about the Heintzelman Collection and the Rum Runners.
The Collaborative Summer Library Program’s Summer reading theme is “Colors.”
Kawana will undergo surgery on January 16, 2025, with 10 vacation days in January.
The Board elected the following officers for one-year terms, with the exception of Joan Johnson who was re-appointed to an additional 5-year term ending December 31, 2029.

Official newspapers for the Library are The Sun and The Chronicle.
