Intro to Dungeons & Dragons

Dive into the magical world of Dungeons and Dragons and learn how to play! This is aimed at 10-14 year olds, but older kids and adults are welcome to watch and learn themselves! Nothing needed but imagination!

Call the library to reserve a spot!

First session: Learn how to create characters.
When and Where: February 21st from 4:00-5:00 p.m. at the Horicon Library.
Learn how to create epic characters, choosing from a variety of magical races and types of adventurers.

Second session: Gameplay
When and Where: February 25th from 1:30-2:30 (approximately) at the Horicon Library.
Use the characters you created in a short, fun adventure with other players in a game run by our librarian. Maximum of six spots for this session; more sessions if there is enough interest.

Edible Book Tea

Pick a book and make it edible! For ideas or examples, check out edible book teas online. All ages are encouraged to submit and entry. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the displays and sample the edible fare!

Register submissions at the library on arrival.

When and where: April 1st at 12:00 p.m. at the Horicon Community Center/Horicon Library.

Warming Centers

WARREN COUNTY, NY — Warren County Office of Emergency Services is informing the public that warming centers will be available at a number of locations Friday, February 3rd and Saturday, February 4th as dangerously cold temperatures occur across the region.

Wind chills are expected to approach 40 degrees below zero on Friday and early Saturday, and actual temperatures will bottom out near 20 below in parts of Warren County on Saturday morning, A wind chill warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for Warren County from 1 a.m. Friday, February 3rd to 1 p.m. Saturday, February 4th.

Life-threatening hypothermia can set in within 15 minutes at these temperatures, while frostbite to exposed skin can occur in as little as 15 minutes as well.

Residents can go to the following locations during the specified time periods Friday and Saturday to warm up if needed:
