HORICON LIBRARY’S 2022 REPORT TO THE TOWN

Total library holdings at the end of 2022 12,661

(Books, magazines, DVDs, audio books, and periodicals)

2 public computers and 2 monitors were replaced in 2022 as they aged out of service.

We were able to purchase a new staff computer thanks to a grant from The Adirondack Foundation.

We are very fortunate that all the library’s technology needs and the library’s

WI-FI are provided free of charge by SALS. 2811 individuals signed into the library’s Wi-Fi. (Number of sign ins, not number of times an individual used

WI-FI services)

Kawana has renewed her notary license and is also certified in CPR.

During 2022 Kawana researched 17 reference questions from patrons.

The library hosted a sunflower planting program. Children started seeds at home then replanted them along the fence outside the library.

2022’s Summer Reading Program was Oceans of Possibilities. Our Library partnered with Chestertown library again this year.

The Friends ’group hosted story time in the library Thursday evenings for newborns through 6th grade. 54 children attended. Several local people volunteered to read to the children.

2022 was the first year the library was open during Food Truck Fridays.

370 people visited the library during that time.

During Food Truck Fridays the library had an Art Exhibit by North Warren senior Ashlee Jennings. Ashlee has provided the library with art work throughout the years. Her talent is amazing and she covers many disciplines.

The library gained 33 new patrons during 2022.
