Director’s Report:
Kawana distributed and went over her monthly and year end reports of patron attendance and expenses.
She noted the holidays saw a typical decline in library usage.
She noted that the books for sale on the cart in the entry are selling and she received a donation from Dan and Beth Smith.
She had a new volunteer to help in the library.
Bookmarks that she made from discarded children’s books were well received at the Christmas in Brant Lake event held by the Friends of the Library.
The new staff computer has been installed and Kawana made pamphlets to hand out to patrons about how to use Libby.
The town supervisor spoke to Kawana about reinstating the copy fees to patrons for nonessential copies.
Kawana and Pam have been working closely on an idea for the Will Eisner Innovative Graphic Novel Grant for $2000.00 plus a bundle of graphic novels selected by the Will Eisner Foundation. The grant requires that we be a member of ALA which Joan is going to look in to see if we are already. If not we will secure the membership and proceed with the grant application.
Old Business:
Dan Smith has agreed to do a series of talks for 3 consecutive Wednesday preferably in the winter months. Kawana will check with the town to see if the Community Room will be
available to hold the talks.
Kawana has planned two session of Dungeons and Dragons for children ages 10-14 to be held at the library on February 21st 4 – 5 pm and February 25th 1:30 – 2:30pm.
It is hoped that the program will turn in to a self-guided program. Pam will make posters and Kawana will get them to the school librarian.

Joan received a collection of children’s books from author Richard W. Perkins who used to
summer at Lake Luzerne. Joan contacted the school so they could receive the books also. Mr. Perkins would like to see the books as part of elementary curriculum.
Joan also noted the important in the trustee presence in attending our local town meetings. She will attend the January meeting and Pam will attend in February. We hope to have someone there to represent the library each month. Meetings are held the third Thursday of the month at 6 pm.
Next Meeting Date: February 21st at 9:30 am.
