Minutes 2022

OCTOBER 18, 2022

The monthly meeting of the Horicon Free Public Library was held on October 18, 2022, at 9:30am.
President Joan Johnson called the meeting to order. Present were Ann Murphy, Sara
Mullins, Patricia Tunney, Kawana Smith. Joyce Greenidge was absent. Guests: Mickey
McSherry, Greta Heilman, Pam Eastman. Joan made a motion to accept the minutes, Sara
seconded.
Supplies are low in ink cartridges.


Treasurer’s Report
Ann passed out the report. Bank balance $3,283.25.
It was stated that magazines are hard to track such as 110 Better Homes & Garden – on bank statement in June but payment made in September. Credit on Birds in Bloom for $8.55 – payment made earlier – charged us twice Ann explained the entries made on the report.
Vouchers signed – 123 to 131.
Pat made a motion to accept the report, Joan seconded.


Kawana Report
She stated activity did quite well in August – food truck Friday in August brought many people – including new visitors.
Nancy Jenks has been volunteering and extremely helpful.
DVD money used for children’s books.
Staff computer should arrive in a few weeks.
Donation from Lawrence Meltzer for $100. Kawana will send a thank-you note.
Will be updating Polaris after first of year.
Working on whether to charge children for fines for late books.
Ann made a motion to buy staff computer at beginning of year – $910 ($33 for locking kit). Pat seconded.

Joan put in for a grant – Adirondack Foundation.
Joan spoke about Kawana getting paid for our monthly meeting.
Joan passed out budget – Ann made a motion to accept, Pat seconded.
The next meeting will be November 21.
