Meeting of the Trustees of the Horicon Free Public Library was held on May 16, 2022. The meeting was called to order by President Joan Johnson at 9:30 am. Present were Ann Murphy, Joyce Greenidge, Kawana Smith, Patricia Tunney – absent Sandy Carpenter. Guest Joanne McGhie.
Treasurer Report
Ann passed out report. $5501.74 ending balance. Vouchers 54 through 71 were approved. Joanne went over the AUD report – has been finished and approved.
Kawana
She passed out reports for the month. Attendance is holding steady especially juvenile.
She is on track for adult and juvenile books and supplies – had to buy printer ink and buy one more ink cartridge for public computer.
“Brant Laker” – article of library coming out soon.
Rest room is closed – July through September2. They will have portapotties outside for the Food Truck Friday night attendees. There will be a sandwich board directing people into library on Friday nights. Library will be closed on Saturdays for the summer. Doing graphic novel spotlight during Friday opening.
Have sent for information on Hoopla.
Kawana took website accessibility class for telling you how much you save for getting a book from the library.
We are looking into having a movie night, if possible, in the Auditorium for August.
Seven children have signed up for annual planting of sunflowers.
There was discussion about grants that may be available – Eisner Graphic Novel Grant for one was mentioned.
Next meeting will be June 20th.
