The meeting was called to order at 9:30 am by President Joan Johnson. Present were Joyce Greenidge, Ann Murphy, Sandy Carpenter, Patricia Tunney and Kawana Smith. Guests: Joanne McGhie, Bob Olson, Sara Mullins. Minutes were passed out. Sandy made a motion to accept the March minutes, Joan seconded.

Treasurer
Ann passed out the March report. She went over the expenditures. We received $2,000 contractual from Town of Horicon. Balance $6556.69.
AUD report completed by Ann and JoAnn has been sent to New York State.
An order for 2 PC’s and 2 monitors was placed – total for two is $1,924.
Vouchers 37 – 53 were submitted for signature and signed.

Kawana
Activity in attendance is rising – juvenile has almost doubled. Some teen-agers are doing college applications. Received $20 on puzzle sales.
Kawana received compliments from patrons who said we have a better curated collection than other libraries they had visited.
Joyce’s daughter came up with a flyer to advertise planting sunflowers this year. We will put the flyers up around town. Children (ages 4 – 12 years) may sign up for gardening now through May 30th – Kawana will do signups.
Hoopla representative is trying to get in touch with Kawana about streaming service.
Other handouts possible Eisner Graphic Grant – will discuss next month.
Lunch meeting in Town Hall conference room – CPR class – Kawana will get her certificate soon. Must reapply for notary at the end of the year. Kawana is now attending town meetings once a month.
Bought new signage for books.

Mr. Geraci – Town Supervisor – stopped by our meeting briefly and gave info that food truck will be here from June to September on Fridays from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. There was a question whether to open library at that time (normally closed). Bathroom in library will be closed on Saturdays. It would help to have a volunteer to assist on Fridays.
Bob Olson, member of Town Board, will discuss problem of Kawana being at library on a Sunday or other day when library is not usually open to do work that is needed by outside contractor. Bob will discuss the item with Rob Hill and the supervisor. She should not be doing that for free. They are working on it for next year’s budget. Bob is interested in the revenues. He also stated he was impressed by work done by everyone in the library. He remarked that we put in budget request by August for movies on spinning tower.
Joan expressed our appreciation for his visit.
By-Laws were reviewed and accepted with no revisions on 4/18/2022.
We are signed up for NY Library Association. It will keep us up to date with grants and awards that are available. A new word press theme is coming out for our website. Confirmed with Chestertown about doing summer reading program. Kawana set up Ocean and Water theme.

New Business
Look for increased NYS budget.

Next meeting May 16, 2022.

Respectfully submitted,
Patricia Tunney, Secretary
