SEPTEMBER 19, 2022
The monthly meeting of the Horicon Free public Library was held on September 19, 2022, at 9:30 am. President Joan Johnson called the meeting to order. Present were Joyce Greenidge, Patricia Tunney, Kawana Smith. Absent: Ann Murphy and Sara Mullins. Guests: Bob Olson, Bill Matte, Greta Heilman. Joan made a motion to accept August minutes., Joyce seconded.
Treasurer’s Report
Ann sent in reports for July and August.
Balance end of August $6463.50.
Vouchers signed — 110 to 122.
$100 set up to buy later in the year; a few DVDs – such as Top Gun: Maverick.
Joan made a motion to accept reports, Joyce seconded.
Kawana Report
She highlighted the Friday evening for the summer. Book sale $69.08. New patrons – mostly on Friday cards and new volunteers. She compared Food Truck Fridays to the usual schedule for Saturdays. The summer reading program for first place teen Gabe Heilman was a $25 gift certificate; 2nd place winner was Aliyah Gleason. Children category 1st place Annaleigh Heilman, 2nd place Caroline Todriff. (Total children and teens books and pages: pages 26,774; books 151).
She noted supplies are low in ink cartridges. More magazines are going out of print. We need to consider what we should carry in the library.
Kawana also made up a Chart of Holdings and Circulation by Collection.
Kawana contacted International Universal Games – they gave the library some promotional stuff.
Dave Bourque – editor of The Brantlaker – put in an item.
Bob Olson asked about new computer order and expenses for cartridges. Trying to stay under 2% tax cap. 2 computers and monitor, cost $1957.52.
Approval vote on Sara Mullins to fill in Sandy’s position was made. Joyce made a motion and Joan seconded and library board approved.
The next meeting will be October 17.
Joyce made a motion to adjourn, Joan seconded.
